A letter from our CEO

As we move past 2025, we celebrate 3 years since the founding of Daughters for Earth, weaving a new way forward and expanding our commitment to women-led action.

In this short time, we have made meaningful progress. We undertook the careful work of identifying more than 800 women-led initiatives around the world, and the equally challenging work of raising and deploying funding to support over 220 of them.

This year, we clarified our 2030 Vision, focusing our efforts during this narrow window of opportunity for bold action that matches the scale of today’s planetary challenges, and demonstrates the essential role of women in leading transformation.

We also dedicated significant time to understanding what truly works. Our 2025 Impact Study discovers and documents the patterns that distinguish women-led environmental initiatives. The findings are both practical and hopeful — and we invite you to explore them >

Throughout the year, the team traveled across regions and communities, contributing to the global conversation around women’s leadership and grounded, evidence-based solutions. From gatherings in Austin, Dallas, New York, Seattle, and Lopez Island in the United States to global forums such as Belém, Barcelona, Berlin, Frankfurt, Geneva, London, and Riyadh, we are shifting the global narrative.

All of this leads us into a new chapter, one where our focus moves from proving that women-led approaches work to doing everything we can to rapidly scale efforts. We now have the data and lived examples that show how women-led initiatives protect and restore ecosystems while strengthening local economies and social wellbeing. Their leadership is effective, efficient, and enduring.

But the urgency is clear: the Earth needs us now more than ever.

I once heard a farmer ask why humans are so focused on self-sufficiency when everything in nature thrives through interdependence and collaboration. It’s a great question. Our planetary health depends on that same principle. Collaboration is not optional; it is how life continues.

It is in this spirit that Daughters for Earth enters 2026. We are committed to deepening partnerships, expanding collective support for women leaders on the frontlines of ecological restoration, and inviting more people into this shared work.

May you join us in weaving this future together.
