Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
Our Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework helps us understand how meaningful change unfolds within complex ecological and social systems. It enables us to learn from the real-world impact of women-led action over time and adapt as that impact evolves.
Our approach is guided by three core principles:
- Nature is our North Star
We prioritize progress toward the protection and restoration of nature, documenting the effectiveness of women-led solutions and celebrating their impact. - We weave stories
Learning is continuous. We use listening tools to capture the stories behind the numbers—learning directly from women leaders and communities across diverse roles, regions, and contexts. - We aim for systemic change
We look beyond static metrics to understand deeper transformation, focusing on how women achieve results and how lasting systems change begins to take root.

Our Commitment to Research
Daughters for Earth is committed to building the evidence base for women-led solutions. This includes documenting not just numbers, but the positive environmental, economic, social, cultural, and spiritual impacts of an organization’s efforts.
Existing research at the intersection of gender and the planetary crisis often focuses on the disproportionate harm experienced by women and girls. While this reality is critical to acknowledge, it is not the full story.
By conducting and amplifying this research, we aim to make women-led action visible, credible, and influential in shaping climate and nature agendas toward 2030 and beyond.
Our research results include:
The 2025 Impact Study
Our 2025 Pilot Impact Study was a deep-drive in lived experience and rigorous listening. Across 24 women-led initiatives in 11 countries and 7 ecosystems, we examined not only what these leaders are doing, but how they are doing it, and why their approaches create lasting change. Three clear findings surfaced. Read more about them here(LINK ME) >
Shifting the Global Narrative
Research only matters if it’s heard. Daughters for Earth brings evidence from women-led solutions into global conversations through speaking engagements, academic forums, major conferences, and cross-sector convenings. From multilateral gatherings to intimate dialogues pairing scientists, philanthropists, and frontline leaders, we help translate research into stories, language, and frameworks that influence how climate and biodiversity solutions are understood and funded.
Foreign Policy Contributions
Daughters for Earth’s research and perspective are reaching influential policy audiences through ongoing contributions to Foreign Policy and other global platforms. Foreign Policy magazine has recognized Zainab Salbi as one of its “100 Top Global Thinkers,” and our partnership continues to amplify women-led environmental leadership through articles, commentary, and an upcoming podcast series exploring the future of climate and nature solutions.
By pairing evidence with storytelling and influence, we are building the case for a future where women-led solutions are recognized, resourced, and scaled to meet the urgency of this decade.
